Study certificate format for Telangana admissions.
A free study certificate that lists, year by year, the classes a student studied at your school and where the school is. Telangana's medical admissions ask for study certificates, but the prospectus doesn't print a format, so this one is built around the prospectus's four-year rule for local candidates.

Filled-in example
Six years at one school, listed year by year.
Meera joined in Class II in 2021-22 and is in Class VII in 2026-27. Each year has its own row, so whoever checks it can count the consecutive years at a glance. For a medical admission, the rows that matter will be Classes IX and X.

Who asks for a study certificate
Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) publishes the prospectus for MBBS and BDS admissions under the competent authority quota in Telangana. For 2026-27, notified on 4 August 2026, its list of documents for registration includes:
- Study certificates from 9th and 10th, marked mandatory. If a single certificate covers both years, the same PDF is uploaded for each year.
- Study certificates for the two Intermediate years, or equivalent, also mandatory.
- The Intermediate or 10+2 transfer certificate, mandatory.
The prospectus doesn't print a format for the study certificate. A school issuing one for Classes IX and X can use this template.
The four consecutive years rule
The prospectus doesn't say what each document is checked for, but the study certificates line up with its rule for who is a local candidate. It sets out that rule from G.O.Ms.No.33 of 19 July 2024 and G.O.Ms.No.150 of 8 September 2025, both from the Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department:
- A candidate who studied in an educational institution in the local area for not less than 4 consecutive academic years, ending with the academic year in which they appeared (or first appeared) for the qualifying exam, is a local candidate.
- The local area is the State of Telangana.
- A candidate who didn't study in an educational institution for all or part of those years can qualify by having lived in Telangana for four years immediately before the qualifying exam. They submit a residence certificate (Annexure II of the prospectus), issued by the Revenue Department, and must have appeared for the qualifying exam in Telangana.
- Some candidates who studied outside Telangana for part of the four years still qualify, for the years a parent served outside the state: children of Telangana government employees, of Telangana-cadre IAS, IFS and IPS officers, of defence, ex-service and Central Armed Police Force personnel who declared their home town in Telangana, and of staff of Telangana government corporations liable to transfer anywhere in India. They need a certificate of the parent's employment from the competent authority.
For a student who does Intermediate straight after Class X, those four years are Classes IX and X and the two Intermediate years, the same years the prospectus asks study certificates for.
Why a year-by-year table
The prospectus lets one certificate cover more than one year. A row for each academic year makes the four-year count easy to check: the year, the class, and the village or town, mandal and district of the school. Those place columns follow the residence certificate in the same prospectus, which records each period with its village, mandal and district.
List only the years the student studied at your school. Years at another school go on that school's certificate. If the student has been with you since a junior class, as in the example, list every year; the reader can see the ones they need.
Andhra Pradesh and other states
We haven't verified Andhra Pradesh's current rules or forms for study certificates, so this page doesn't describe them. If you're issuing one for an admission in Andhra Pradesh or any other state, follow the notification or prospectus the student is applying under.
How to fill in the study certificate
- Check the admission register. Take the academic years and classes the student studied at your school from the register.
- Write one row per year. For each academic year, write the class studied and the school's village or town, mandal and district.
- Keep to your own years. Years at another school go on that school's study certificate.
- Sign and seal. The headmaster or principal signs, with the school seal, the place and the date.
