For ICSE and ISC schools

The Council List, straight from your student records.

For an ICSE or ISC school, the Council List and the nominal roll are two lists nobody wants to retype. ProEMS builds both from the student records your office already keeps, with Council UIDs, optional subjects and repeaters marked, so the class never has to be copied into a fresh spreadsheet.

In short

What does ProEMS do for an ICSE or ISC school?

ProEMS produces the Council List and the nominal roll for any class from your student records, and runs the rest of the school year around them: attendance, fees, exams, report cards and transfer certificates.

Both lists sit on the View Student screen. The Council List exports as a PDF, or as Excel in XLSX or CSV, with a summary sheet counting boys and girls for each optional subject. The nominal roll prints as a PDF, boys first and then girls, with a subject-wise count and a signature line for each section's teacher.

ProEMS has no link with CISCE and doesn't submit anything to the Council. It gives your office accurate lists from your own records to check and send on.

Through the year

When does an ICSE or ISC school reach for these lists?

Mostly at registration, before exams and whenever a student joins or leaves. Here's the order things happen in ProEMS; the Council's own dates are yours to follow.

  1. Admission

    Records go in complete

The office adds each student with date of birth, parents' names, caste category, religion, nationality and mobile number, the particulars the Council List draws on.

  2. Subjects

    Optional subjects recorded

Each student's optional subjects go on their record once. They become columns on the Council List and rows in the nominal roll's subject count.

  3. Nightly

    Roll numbers stay in order

At 2 am, ProEMS renumbers every active section: boys first, then girls, each in alphabetical order.

  4. Registration

Council UIDs and the Council List

Import the Council UIDs for a class from one Excel sheet, then export the Council List for checking, with the summary sheet for the subject counts.

  5. Exams

    Nominal roll, signed by section

Print the nominal roll for the class, with repeaters marked [R] and a signature line for each section's teacher.

  6. Leaving

    TCs and the leavers list

Issue a TC from the student record. The student drops off the active lists and shows under the nominal roll's TC Taken Students List.

What is the Council List, and how does ProEMS produce it?

The Council List is a school's list of students and their particulars for the Council, class by class, and ProEMS builds it from your student records with the Council List button on the View Student screen. Our glossary entry on the Council List covers the term itself.

The PDF is grouped by section, with account and admission numbers, Council UID, name, B or G, nationality, caste, date of birth, religion, both parents' names, SMS mobile number, optional subjects, photo and signature. Repeaters carry [R] next to their name, and you choose the paper size, orientation and font size.

The Excel version sorts by section, gender and name, gives each optional subject its own column with boys, girls and total counted underneath, and Export Summary puts those counts on a sheet of their own.

What does the ProEMS nominal roll show?

The ProEMS nominal roll is a PDF of a class in roll number order, with roll number, account and admission numbers, Council UID, house, name, date of birth and optional subjects. The nominal roll glossary entry explains the term.

Boys come first and girls after them, repeaters are marked [R], new admissions are in bold, and each section ends with a signature line for its teacher. Underneath sit a subject-wise count of boys and girls and the list of students who have taken a TC. The nominal roll is PDF only; for Excel, use the Council List or the student export.

How are roll numbers kept in order?

ProEMS resets roll numbers in every active section at 2 am each night, in the same order as the nominal roll: boys alphabetically, then girls alphabetically.

That keeps the registers, lists and report cards in one order without anyone renumbering by hand. It also means a roll number typed in by hand is replaced overnight, so plan on the alphabetical order. The rest of the student record is covered on the student records page.

Which plan

Which ProEMS plan does an ICSE or ISC school need?

FAQ

Questions we hear first.

Something else on your mind? Bring it to the demo and we'll answer it there.

Does ProEMS send the Council List to CISCE?
No. ProEMS produces the Council List as a PDF or Excel file from your records. It has no connection to CISCE's systems, so your office checks the list and submits it the way the Council asks.
Can we choose which columns go on the Council List?
Partly. The standard columns are fixed, and you can add student profile comments as an extra column. Paper size, orientation and font size are your choice.
Is the nominal roll available in Excel?
No, the nominal roll prints as a PDF. If you need the same students in Excel, export the Council List or the student list, which both come out as Excel.
Can we set roll numbers by hand?
Not for long. ProEMS renumbers every section at 2 am each night in nominal roll order, boys first and then girls, alphabetically, so a hand-typed roll number is replaced overnight.
Do the lists work for ISC classes too?
Yes. The Council List and nominal roll are produced for whichever class you select, so Class 11 and 12 work the same way as Class 9 and 10.
