What does a school ERP usually include?
It depends on the vendor. Pathshala ERP lists more than 25 modules, including hostel, transport, HR and payroll.[1] Devryon stages them across three plans: inventory and online examinations in Basic, transport, hostel, online admission, QR attendance and certificates in Premium, and multi-branch support, white-label branding and an API in Enterprise.[2] EduGradUP lists a hostel module and Tally and QuickBooks sync.[3]
So a module name tells you little until you see which plan includes it. Our checklist for choosing a school ERP goes through the modules to check.
Is a school ERP the same as school management software?
In practice, yes. Vendors use the two names for the same product, sometimes on the same page.[1, 3] The names come from different places. ERP is a business-software term for the integrated management of main business processes, typically as a suite of integrated applications.[4] A student information system, which is also called a student management system or school administration software, manages student data such as course registration, grading, attendance and reports, and supports communication between students, parents, teachers and the administration.[5]
In our reading, a school ERP is usually a student information system with the back-office modules added: fees, payroll, library and transport. If a vendor uses only one of the names, the module list is what matters.
How is a school ERP priced?
Published examples use three styles. Devryon charges per student per month, ₹6, ₹12 or ₹16 by plan, invoiced yearly on active students at the start of the session.[2] EduGradUP charges a flat ₹9,000 to ₹23,000 a year by school size, plus 18% GST.[3] Pathshala ERP charges a flat ₹15,000 a year for unlimited students.[1] SMS, payment gateway and WhatsApp charges are often separate.[2, 3] Our school ERP cost guide compares them side by side.
How does ProEMS fit?
ProEMS is a school ERP that colleges also use. It comes in three cumulative plans. Silver covers records, portals, attendance and messaging. Gold adds fees with online payment, exams, report cards and certificates. Platinum adds admissions, library, transport records and payroll. Prices are ₹79, ₹169 and ₹249 per student per year before GST, with lower rates in higher volume bands. See the pricing page.
ProEMS has no hostel module, inventory, GPS bus tracking, WhatsApp messaging or Tally export, and parents cannot pay fees online. If you need any of these, check them before you shortlist.

FAQ
Questions about School ERP
Short answers. The sections above have the detail and the sources.
- Does a school ERP replace Tally?
- It depends on the vendor. A school ERP handles fee collection and receipts, while accounting is a separate job. EduGradUP lists Tally and QuickBooks sync, and Devryon lists double-entry accounting. ProEMS has no Tally or accounting export, so its fee data leaves as Excel or PDF.
- Does a school ERP include a parent app?
- It depends on the vendor, so ask to see the app and what a parent can do in it. ProEMS uses one app for every school, entered with your organisation code. In the app, parents read messages and see photo albums, the calendar and fee details, and get attendance notifications on Android. Results and attendance records are in the parent login on the web. Parents cannot pay fees in the app or online.
